Compassion for CampersThe Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) program of McHenry County, Illinois provides homeless people with food and shelter in area churches every night from October 1 through April 30. Since 1987, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Woodstock was a PADS site, with many of its members staffing shifts, welcoming and feeding guests, and doing laundry. In 2012, when the church moved to neighboring McHenry, and eventually changed its name to Tree of Life UU Congregation, the PADS site was moved to another church, but many Tree of Life UU's continue to volunteer their time and support.

UU Congregation of Ann Arbor, MichiganOn June 1st, the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor, Michigan voted unanimously to support marriage equality.  Members of this congregation are proud they made this decision and wanted Michigan UU Social Justice Network (MUUSJN) to share their joy with UUs and other people of faith activists around the state. This the first UU faith community in Michigan to affirm marriage equality by congregational vote.
