UU Congregation of Columbus INThe Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus, Indiana (UUCCI) seeks a Director of Lifespan Faith Development

The Start date will Late June - Early July 2018; exact date to be negotiated.  This will be a Permanent (24 hours/week) position, reporting to the Chief-of-Staff (Minister).  The Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.  Benefits will include some combination of healthcare, dental, paid time off, professional expenses, and 401k 


The Director of Lifespan Faith Development (DLFD) will help to envision and lead the implementation of a strategic approach to UU religious education for all ages at UUCCI. Working closely with the Minister, this individual will be highly collaborative and motivated, with a capacity to also work independently toward specified goals and metrics of success. The DLFD will be skilled at recruiting and sustaining a wide network of volunteers to support various aspects of the broader

lifespan faith development strategy. Working predominantly with children, youth, and families, this individual will help strengthen these ministry offerings and nurture a sense of community within this growing area of congregational life. Above all else, the DLFD will effectively support UUCCI’s aspiration to become a vibrant multigenerational religious community committed to spiritual growth and courageous action in the world. 


• Support the creation and implementation of a UU lifespan faith development strategy

• Set goals and metrics of success in collaboration with the minister

• Measure and evaluate outcomes as they relate to agreed upon goals and metrics of success

• Effectively recruit, manage, and support a broad group of RE volunteers, teachers, and paid childcare providers

• Collaborate with the Religious Education Team and the Minister to coordinate religious education offerings for children and youth (ages 0-18)

• Communicate with families and the wider congregation through a monthly newsletter column and other means

• Coordinate with adult religious education and affinity teams to ensure greater coherence of Adult RE offerings

• Maintain regular weekly office hours

• Participate in local, regional, and national professional development

• Other duties as assigned


• Professional or volunteer UU religious education experience

• Volunteer coordination experience preferred

• Professional or volunteer experience working with children or youth

• BA/BS college degree preferred

• Analytical thinking and evaluation skills

• Excellent computer skills and proficient with social media

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills
